Last Monday the inaugural Southeast Europe & East Med conference was held in Washington D.C. This event was created on the initiative of Kathimerini and Delphi Economic Forum to bring leaders together with a goal to expand dialogue and opportunities between the U.S. and Southeastern European and East Mediterranean nations.

The “New Strategies-New Perspectives,” conference included U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Francis R. Fannon, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip T. Reeker, Lieutenant Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis, Greek Development and Investments Minister Adonis Georgiadis, and Cypriot Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides, according to the Greek-American news organization Kathimerini. In addition, members of Congress and the Senate as well as U.S. think tank reps attended.

As expected, Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) was present. He is Greek-American himself and represents one of the largest Greek-American communities in the United States of America located in Tarpon Springs, FL.

Among many Democratic Senators and Congresspersons attending this conference was former U.S. Ambassador (Ret.) to Greece Nicholas Burns, who is part of the ATLANTIC COUNCIL.

Burns makes it no secret that he supported all aspects of disgraced former President Barack Hussein Obama’s globalist policies. His bio tells you everything you need to know, claiming bipartisanship for administrations all cut from the same cloth. He was National Security Council at the White House where he was Senior Director for Russia, Ukraine, and Eurasian Affairs and Special Assistant to President Clinton, as well as Director for Soviet Affairs in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.

During his speaking engagement his statements were in tangent with the narrative the Democrats were shamelessly pushing during this conference. They were advising Greece’s ministers that the Trump administration has no interest in maintaining their sovereignty and offering them protection.

I’m sorry to say it, but if Greece needs U.S. support against any hostilities by Turkey, I don’t think it will get it from President Trump.

Ambassador (Ret.) Nicholas Burns

Burns’ statement was delivered in a matter-of-fact tone, as if he is letting the Greek government know that when it comes down to choosing sides, the U.S. would choose Turkey over Greece. That is an absurd notion considering their assistance in capturing al-Baghdadi, the increased investments in creating a bigger U.S. military presence in Greece to defend them against Turkey, and the NEW Mutual Defense Agreement signed last month.

The former Ambassador to Greece, who was actually Joe Biden’s campaign adviser in the summer, was bold and cryptic by telling his audience that it is important that Greek-Americans understand what party offers their country of origin protection and that is an important message to transmit prior to the 2020 presidential elections.

It is important to note that the statements and notions purported during this conference were contradictory to the actions taken by the Trump administration in the Eastern Mediterranean.

In fact, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Palmer, sternly advised the Turkish Cypriot Agency (the occupied territory of Northern Cyprus) that U.S. forces will remain in the Eastern Mediterranean to PROTECT Greece and Cyprus from acts that are deemed hostile in nature. This is in direct contradiction to statements made by Burns.

Below, is an archived live show (commercial free) where I explain the Mutual Defense Agreement that Secretary Pompeo signed and break down his Q&A session with the Greek press. It was one of his best speaking engagements in a foreign nation.

It’s no secret that U.S. foreign policy is the same policy that President Trump applies domestically: America First.
