Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is hiring a team of “seasoned journalists” who will decide which news you see on the social networking site in the run up to the 2020 election.

For this project, the team over at Facebook is creating a “News Tab,” which is essentially meant to tell you which news is important and credible.

“News Tab is an effort by Facebook to restore the sanity and credibility that’s lost in the chaos of our main feeds. Facebook will personalize the News Tab, so it will need a massive amount of content, from the New York Jets to gardening,” Axios said, quoting Facebook executives.

Worse, “News Tab” is described as a “personal passion” of Zuckerberg’s. The multi-billionaire is, of course, a Silicon Valley leftist. The project “is also an effort by Facebook to develop a healthier relationship with publishers, many of whom have had their business models destroyed by social platforms.”

Despite the pitch of a benign service to bring Americans the news and keep them informed, this tool will unequivocally and unquestionably be used to push the leftist mainstream press narrative.

How do I know this? Because Facebook literally banned conservative reporters Laura Loomer, Alex Jones, and Paul Joseph Watson from it’s platform, labeling them “dangerous individuals.” If Facebook thinks that conservative reporters are “dangerous,” how could we possibly trust them to give Americans any conservative news? The trio, along with conservative commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, were banned within minutes of each other in May from both Facebook and its subsidiary, Instagram. Loomer is suing Facebook for $3 billion in damages over her ban.

“Our goal with the News tab is to provide a personalized, highly relevant experience … The majority of stories people will see will appear in the tab via algorithmic selection,” Facebook’s head of news partnerships Campbell Brown told Axios.

A test of “News Tab” is expected to launch to 200,000 users in October, and will go live next year – just in time for the 2020 election cycle.

President Donald J. Trump, for his part, seems to be aware of the ongoing issue of Big Tech’s bias against conservatives.

He held a “Social Media Summit” two months ago with some prominent conservative influencers at the White House, though many who have actually been banned were not invited.

The head of the Federal Trade Commission also threatened to break up the Big Tech monopolies over alleged anti-competitive behavior.

“FTC Chairman Joe Simons, who is leading a broad review of the technology sector, said in an interview Tuesday that breaking up a company is challenging, but could be the right remedy to rein in dominant companies and restore competition,” as we reported last week.
