Despite her scandal-ridden legacy, twice-failed Democrat
presidential candidate Hillary Clinton may be eyeing another bid for the White
House.

Clinton maintains
she is not seeking the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

But according to New York Times politics reporter Reid J. Epstein, the Democratic National Committee is hosting a $35,000-per-person fundraiser next month “at the home of Hillary Rodham Clinton,” prompting speculation that the former secretary of state may still jump in the presidential race.

According to POLITICO Playbook, plates will cost up to $50,000 at the fundraiser for the DNC in October.

“HILLARY CLINTON is hosting a big-dollar fundraiser for the DNC at her D.C. mansion (just around the corner from VP Mike Pence’s house),” Politico reported. “The Oct. 16 event is billed as ‘Dinner and conversation at the home of Hillary Rodham Clinton.’ Tickets are available at $15,000, $35,000 and $50,000 levels.”

Clinton has yet to face accountability for allegedly jeopardizing national security with a private email server that she used as secretary of state, which the FBI minimized as “extremely careless.” Nor has she been investigated for her involvement in Uranium One, a deal arbitrated during her tenure in the State Department that allowed Russia to acquire 20 percent of America’s uranium reserves.

President Trump has suggested one reason Clinton wants to run for president is to avoid incarceration, while Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton has repeatedly warned that there has long been enough evidence to arrest the former Democratic Party presidential nominee and send her to jail.

The government watchdog is inching closer towards putting Clinton under oath in a deposition.

In August, a federal judge in Washington, D.C. rejected Justice and State Department arguments to protect Clinton and granted the government watchdog Judicial Watch interrogatories and four document requests related to Clinton’s use of the private unauthorized server. Clinton and her former top aide were given 30 days to oppose being deposed by Judicial Watch.

Yet, Clinton, undeterred her record of contempt for the rule of law, has refused to leave the political spotlight after Trump’s historic victory, persistently coming out of the woodwork to insult the president and blame everything but herself for her 2016 defeat.

Delivering the opening keynote speech at the In Defense of American Democracy event in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, the former first lady made a new excuse for her 2016 loss: voter ID law.

Voter suppression, which she attributed to laws requiring a photo ID to vote, are disenfranchising millions of Americans, “particularly women, the elderly and people of color,” and prevented voters from casting ballots in her favor, she argued.

“You can run the best campaign, you can have the best
plans, you can get the nomination, you can win the popular vote. And you can
lose the Electoral College and therefore the election for these four reasons.
Number one, voter suppression,” Clinton declared.

Approximately 200,000 voters in Wisconsin, a swing state where
she never campaigned, were turned away from the polls costing her more votes
because of the state’s voter ID law, she claimed.

“Registered voters were kept off the rolls. Their registrations just piled up in some back office with no intention to ever enroll them so that they could actually vote. We also saw what happened in 2016. Experts estimate that anywhere from 27,000 to 200,000 Wisconsin citizen voters, predominantly in Milwaukee, were turned away from the polls. That’s a lot of potential voters.”

She also blasted Facebook for not mitigating “Trump’s propaganda efforts.”

“The Trump campaign is already spending hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars on Facebook each week to spread fake endorsements and outright lies about Democrats. They have been doing this since after the 2017 inauguration, but it’s getting at an even higher velocity now,” Clinton said. “And even though these posts violate Facebook’s stated Terms of Service, they’re still up. Facebook is still paid for them. And the people who are targeted to receive them still believe them.”

Conservatives have mocked the current 2020 Democratic presidential primary field, with talk radio show host Mark Levin arguing, “Those running for the nomination for the Democratic Party — among the weakest field in American history, truly.” Meanwhile, a U.K. gambling site has waged more bets for former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton winning the Democratic nomination than for any of the declared candidates.

In an interview with Newsweek, Matthew Shaddick who heads the political betting division of Ladbroke, a U.K. bookmaker that allows people to place bets on the presidential race, revealed the site currently has Clinton’s betting odds at 20 to 1, exceeding the bets placed on Sens. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii, and former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke.

“We’re baffled, to be honest,” Shaddick told Newsweek. “We’ve taken more bets on her to be the Democratic candidate than any of the other runners.”
