Twitter temporarily suspended a Spanish politician for “hate speech” after saying that “a man cannot get pregnant” on May 11.

Francisco José Contreras, the deputy to Spain’s far-right Vox Party, was suspended from twitter for 12 hours after responding to an article about a transgender woman having a baby replying that a man has “neither a uterus nor ovaries.” Contreras criticized Twitter’s move saying it views his remarks as “fascist biology.”

“The hateful tweet (which I was forced to delete) was one that said: ‘A man cannot get pregnant. A man has no womb or eggs.’ You can already see this is already fascist biology. Next time I’ll try 2+2=4,” Contreras said in a Facebook post on May 11.

Contreras’ tweet, posted on May 11, made statements about the biological differences between men and women adding that men do not have a uterus or ovaries.

“That’s [a transgender woman having a baby] is a lie. A man cannot get pregnant. A man has neither a uterus nor ovaries,” the tweet said.

In an interview with LifeSite News, Contreras said the party will defend biologically truthful statements despite negative reactions from social media. (RELATED: Twitter Suspends Conservative Commentator For Opposing Trans In Military, Tying ‘Extreme Muslim Beliefs’ To Honor Killings)

“We will not yield to Twitter imposing a twisted (and anthropologically wrong) worldview,” he said. “We will continue to speak the truth about human nature. Biological truth should not be regarded as ‘hate speech.’ It’s biology, not bigotry.”

Supporters of Contreras began the thread #AManCannotBePregnant on Twitter.

Twitter said Contreras violated its “Hateful Conduct Policy” that demands that a user cannot promote violence on the basis of a person’s identity, including identity that pertains to gender.

“You may not promote violence against or directly attack or threaten other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease,” the policy states.

Twitter threatened that failure to remove content that violates its policies can result in the account being permanently suspended.

“Keep in mind that repeated defaults may lead to permanent suspension of your account. Go to your Twitter now to fix the problem with your account,” Twitter told Contreras.
